Bayliner 300 Cruiser

Classy twin-engine budget cruiser
Print This Article   |   Email This Article

The brand-new Bayliner 300 Cruiser is being billed as the cost-conscious builder’s most affordable twin-engine cruiser. With room for 10 and sleeping quarters for six, this sporty stern-drive cruiser is just the ticket for families on a budget.

The top deck features the standard cruiser layout with a large lounge to port, an L-shaped lounge aft to starboard and a small refreshment center aft to port — a Bimini top with a boot comes standard. We like the available adjustable dual helm seat as well as the easy pop-up engine access. The captain will appreciate a number of useful standards, including a compass, a digital depth indicator, electric/hydraulic trim tabs, full instrumentation and power-assisted rack and pinion tilt steering.

Down below in the cabin there’s a large V-berth forward as well as a mid-cabin double berth. The starboard dinette converts to a berth with storage below, giving you comfortable sleeping arrangements for six.

The galley features an alcohol/electric dual-burner stove, a refrigerator, a microwave and a stainless steel sink. The fully molded fiberglass liner marine head features a holding tank and manual flush, a portlight, a shower (6-gallon water heater) and a sink.

On deck, you’ll find stainless steel hardware throughout, and the integral transom platform with a retractable ladder and a handrail is perfect for watersports staging and swimming. When it’s time to clean up, you’ll appreciate the self-bailing fiberglass floor liner.

Options to consider include a cockpit canvas cover, a power engine-hatch lift, foredeck cushions and rails and a Navman electronics package.

Pricing starts at $103,736 with a pair of 220 hp MerCruiser 4.3 MPI engines. Freshwater cooling is an option, as is a pair of 260 hp MerCruisers. Either way, you get plenty of power for cruising and watersports action as well as all the perks of twin-engine power.

The new Bayliner 300 Cruiser is a good-size family overnighter that offers an impressive number of amenities at an affordable price.
